Welcome to our Home Page...

Welcome to Astronomy-Leelanau, a website of the Hahnenberg Observatory, Lake Leelanau. MI.  The observatory houses the largest telescope in the area, a 14" Meade LX200GPS-SMT Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope, an 8" Orion reflector, and a  Coronado h-Alpha telescope for viewing sun flares and prominences, along with CCD and digital SLR cameras for optimal planetary and deep-sky photography.

As of July 15, Astronomy-Leelanau.net will cease to exist. Beginning July 1, our website will become a blog, published more than once a month. With the exciting developments from NASA, especially regarding the Mars lander, I thought it would be more news-friendly to post blogs as events unfold.

The Clear Sky link and Sky Dome links will still be posted on each blog.

Naturally, I will have my Commentary, but at times it will be concerning a news item in astronomy.

Look for the July lst Commentary on "What does a discovery of intelligent life on another planet do to Christianity?"
